Our wonderful (cough) leaders in Washington D.C. have recently passed funding for the fiscal year of 2017.  While this is only a stopgap measure, it does reauthorize the Rohrabacher-Blumenauer amendment.  This amendment does not allow for the Department of Justice to utilize funds to “to prevent any of them (The 50 States) from implementing their own laws that authorize the use, distribution, possession, or cultivation of medical marijuana.”

So no matter the rhetoric being spewed by our Attorney General Jeff Sessions, he has no budget to prosecute MMJ providers until possibly September 30th of 2017.  The Rohrabacher-Blumenauer amendment should only be viewed as a temporary fix, but it does give us some additional time to continue to grow our legitimate industry. You can read the full details of the omnibus funding legislation here with MMJ relevance beginning on page 230.
